Tandy/Radio Shack Computerized Arcade-12 Pinout ----------------------------------------------- 10302012 K.Horton ---- This doodad is a 12 buttoned and 12 light somewhat large tabletop game. Supposidly there's 12 games built in. Each button is a different colour and a light bulb hides behind each. At startup, it lights each button up, one at a time and makes a rising tone for each button as it does so. You then select a game and the fun begins. Inside it is a TMS1100 (marked CD7282SL). It runs on a 9V and four C cells. The 9V runs the TMS1100 and the C cells run the speaker and the light bulbs via transistors. The connections are as follows: O0 through O7 connect to the lights under buttons 1 through 8 in order. A high on the output lights up the desired button. R0 through R3 connect to the lights under buttons 9-12 in order. Again, a high on the output lights up the desired button. R10 connects to the speaker via a transistor. The software in the TMS1100 toggles this line in real time to make tones and noises via toggling and software delay loops. There's 17 buttons on the game, connected in a matrix like so: +----+ +----+ +----+ +----+ R8 o---| 1 |--| 2 |--| 3 |--| 4 | +----+ +----+ +----+ +----+ | | | | +----+ +----+ +----+ +----+ R9 o---| 5 |--| 6 |--| 7 |--| 8 | +----+ +----+ +----+ +----+ | | | | +----+ +----+ +----+ +----+ R5 o---| 9 |--| 10 |--| 11 |--| 12 | +----+ +----+ +----+ +----+ | | | | +----+ +----+ +----+ +----+ R6 o---| ST |--| SL |--| HT |--| SP | +----+ +----+ +----+ +----+ | | | | +----+ | | | R7 o---| RP | | | | +----+ | | | | | | | o o o o K8 K4 K2 K1 ST = start, SL = select, HT = hit, SP = space, RP = repeat There's an RC oscillator (47pf, 39K) running the TMS1100. A capacitor is used for a reset generator, and that's it. 01234567890123456789012345678901234567890123456789012345678901234567890123456789
