Mathemagician Pinout -------------------- 10302012 K.Horton ---- This here is the Mathemagician. LET HIM TEACH YOU!! It's a weird-ass math teaching thing made by APF. It's got a TMS1100, a bunch of 7 segment displays, 4 LEDs and a bunch of buttons. There's a carrying handle on it for some reason, too. It runs on 4 C cells. Internally there's a -9V voltage converter, and the TMS1100 thus runs on 15V (6+9V). The display is arranged like so: A B D G * * * * -- R10 -- -- \* / -- -- -- -- -- -- | | | | \/ | | | | --- | | | | | | | | -- -- ---- -- -- -- -- -- -- | | | | /\ | | | | --- | | | | | | | | -- -- /* \ -- -- -- -- -- -- R0 R1 R8 R2 R3 R9 R4 R5 R6 R7 The display commons are connected to the 11 R outputs. A high on a particular R output will enable that digit. R10 enables the 4 LEDs above the 7-seg displays. The 7 segments are arranged like so: O0 - no connection O1 - A O2 - B O3 - C O4 - D O5 - E O6 - F O7 - G The 7-seg digits have the usual ABCDEFG arrangement. The 4 LEDs above the display are connected to the indicated segment. The two "special" digits are arranged like so: C A B \ * / \ / ----- A ----- G / \ ----- D / * \ B A C On the R8 digit (on the left above) the segments are in pairs, as shown except the middle bar. The R9 digit is just an equal sign and the top/bottom bars are individually controllable. That does it for the output. Input is arranged like so: 1 power 2 power 3 K1 4 K1 5 K2 6 R5 7 R3 8 K4 9 K8 10 R6 11 R9 12 R7 13 R10 +----+ +----+ +----+ +----+ R3 o---| 1 |--| 2 |--| 3 |--| - | +----+ +----+ +----+ +----+ | | | | +----+ +----+ +----+ +----+ R5 o---| 0 |--| _ |--| r |--| + | +----+ +----+ +----+ +----+ | | | | +----+ +----+ +----+ +----+ R6 o---| 4 |--| 5 |--| 6 |--| * | +----+ +----+ +----+ +----+ | | | | +----+ +----+ +----+ +----+ R7 o---| SL |--| NX |--| ? |--| = | +----+ +----+ +----+ +----+ | | | | +----+ +----+ +----+ +----+ R9 o---| 7 |--| 8 |--| 9 |--| / | +----+ +----+ +----+ +----+ | | | | +----+ | | | R10o---|1/2 | | | | +----+ | | | | | | | o o o o K1 K2 K4 K8 SL = select, NX = next, 1/2 = 1/2 player switch. When in the "2 player" selection, the 1/2 switch is shorted. when in "1 player" mode, it is open. There's diodes to do steering to prevent ghosting on the key matrix. That's about it. There's no speaker or audio output on this one. Oscillator is the usual RC (82pf and 68K). 01234567890123456789012345678901234567890123456789012345678901234567890123456789
